Clinic Appointments
If you’re a parent or carer living in Northamptonshire, take a look at our section below on how the service works. Families will be contacted once a referral has been accepted. Whilst waiting please take a look at our tips and strategies on the website.
Who can book an appointment?
Professionals working in the health/education/local authority sectors. If English is an additional language, we may be able to offer a translation service.
Where and when appointments take place?
Clinic appointments take place throughout the year. Appointments take place via video consultation or by phone. Although most families prefer video consultation or telephone appointments, we are able to offer face-to-face appointments if required.
How do I book an appointment?
Referrals will only be accepted by professionals working in the health/education/local authority sectors. Parent/carer referrals are not accepted for this service.
If you are a parent or carer, please speak to your relevant health/education/local authority professional.
How long do appointments last?
Appointments last up to one hour.
Does the child or young person need to attend the appointment?
No, families don’t need to bring the child or young person to the appointment, but can do so if they wish for older children to involve them in the design of their sleep plan. Our sleep practitioners work with families and children/young people to discuss their needs and habits and create a personalised sleep plan to be taken away.
What happens during/after an appointment?
At the appointment, we’ll look at some of the factors that affect sleep and look at strategies that can help children or young people to sleep well. Following the appointment, families will be given a personalised sleep programme for their child or young person and we will arrange follow-up appointments to discuss how things are progressing.
