Ashcroft School celebrates the Coronation of King Charles III
On Friday, 5 May, the Together Trust’s Ashcroft School, which supports children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs, was decked out in red, white and blue as students and staff commemorated the Coronation of King Charles III.
The youngsters were encouraged to celebrate British values - democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs. They demonstrated a great deal of respect, friendship, equality and support towards the needs of others through a range of team-building activities. From biscuit decorating, arts and crafts and costume contests to sports activities, pin the crown on the King and enjoying a themed photo booth.
In addition, thanks to Lauren Ward, Learning Support Assistant and Shane Henry, Teacher of Sport/Outdoor Education, our students’ royal knowledge was put to the test with a fun royal family quiz.
To make the celebration even more special, the young enthusiasts were treated to an afternoon tea party with signature British treats set by one of our PBS Practitioners, Rebecca Pritchard.
