Ashcroft student speaks at the Together Trust's annual general meeting
Kyran is 13 years old and has been a student at Ashcroft School since May last year. As well as thriving in his new educational environment, Kyran has also quickly become a strong advocate for the Together Trust outside of school. Last week, Kyran and his mother Kylie spoke at the Together Trust AGM about the difference Ashcroft has made to their lives. In this blog, Kyran shares how Ashcroft has helped him.
"I have been really enjoying Information and Communications (ICT) Technology, where we have been learning different types of coding. I’ve been doing my iDEA (Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award), which is a bit like a digital Duke of Edinburgh award where we learn about the uses of coding, ICT and digital literacy. There are some marketing and business elements. It is great that I can do things like this at Ashcroft based on my ability, and I’m not restricted by my age as I have been before. I was asked last year to help out with some interviews they were doing for a Participation Officer role. We did some group interviews where I asked the applicants some questions and answered some questions about the Together Trust. I really enjoy that sort of stuff, so it was great. I felt really proud that I was involved in the interviews and could help out in something outside of Ashcroft School."
