Our services going above and beyond to offer full-time support

Over the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns, staff members at one of our short breaks home, Meridian, have gone above and beyond to look after our young people and help a family in need of extra support during the lockdown.

Our colleagues have been changing their shifts to bubble a team, enabling them to support our young people with short breaks and keep them as safe as possible.

At Meridian, we usually only provide short break care, however, amidst the pandemic, our team was approached about a young person who had been accessing the service for some time and whose family required full-time support for their child.

Despite the unexpected circumstances and busy times, our staff team acknowledged the importance of their presence and took on the challenge and took care of the young person full-time during the lockdown and provided the young person an in-depth programme to progress with her communication and independence skills.
