Karten Network celebrates the Centenary of Ian Karten’s birth
Today marks the centenary of Ian Karten’s birth and in celebration, Karten is launching the Ian Karten Charitable Trust’s website. The website celebrates Ian’s life, vision and legacy. Put simply Ian was a remarkable man.
Bridge College has been lucky enough to receive funding from the Karten Network over the course of the last 3 years. The Karten Network support our students with technology equipment including the printing press, large printers and screens.
Using the printers and digital screens students have set up a Print Enterprise business. The Enterprise students have been learning how to grow the business along with the many other skills that go alongside with starting up a new enterprise.
As part of the Print Enterprise 2020 curriculum plan, students have been printing college logo images and some of their own Christmas designs onto mugs. They will also be printing their own designs onto t-shirts and tote bags. The mugs, bags and t-shirts will then be available to use in promotional events for the college and will also become key selling items when the online college print shop is open.
The students follow Health and Safety instructions from the tutor and staff to use the equipment, and they’ve all done a fantastic job. They have created designs, printed those designs, produced a catalogue and worked on marketing their products to staff within the college.
We are very excited to use all the equipment from the Karten Network.
A huge thanks to Karten Network for the support. Make sure you watch this space for further details on the online shop and how you can buy the students products.
