Valuable contributions of Together Trust volunteers documented in new report
As Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June) gets underway, we are releasing our new annual volunteering report which celebrates our helpers and the value they generate for the people we support.
Overall, the Together Trust has approximately 60 volunteers in a variety of roles from trustees and governors to reading supporters and musicians.
The report highlights that, over the period April 2021 - March 2022, our regular volunteers (not including governors or trustees who currently comprise the majority of our volunteers) gave more than 1,300 hours of their precious time to help the Trust. Their contribution equates to over £12,000 when valued in terms of the national living wage. In addition, 149 hours of time were logged by volunteers helping at our events.
Where possible, volunteering outcomes have been tracked for the services supported and for the volunteers themselves.
“The people we support also benefit a lot, either directly or indirectly, from the skills, knowledge and experience of our great volunteering community” says Lois Sonariwo, Volunteer Service Administrator.
Our Together Trust volunteers have supported literacy skills at our schools, provided enrichment activities, taught cookery skills, supported fundraising events and developed our outdoor spaces, to name a few volunteering activities.
“We are always grateful to our volunteers but, especially during Volunteers’ Week, we would like to reiterate our thanks to these fantastic individuals who support our work” says Claire.
To mark Volunteers’ Week, we are inviting all our volunteers to celebrate their achievements together at an informal tea and cake afternoon.
