Together Trust celebrates Manchester Pride Parade 2023 in style!
Together Trust staff got an overwhelmingly big reaction from the crowds while rocking colourful disability, autism and queer youth awareness banners at Manchester Pride Parade 2023!
A delegation of staff and people we support took the streets equipped with colourful flags, flower garlands, fans, stickers and messages of peace to support disability, autism and youth inclusion in LGBTQ+ spaces.
Our messages covered a broad range of topics however we were again overwhelmed with support for our simple “Autism Awareness”, “Safe spaces for queer youth” and “Disability Awareness” banners. Year after year, our message resonates with people who feel themselves seen in an area they are still underrepresented in.
“Moments like this remind you how important our work is. Raising awareness about disability and neurodivergence doesn’t only create more inclusive communities, but it makes people feel seen and represented. And we know how crucial that is for young people.” Ilinca, Communications Team
The Together Trust is strongly committed to campaigning for LGBTQ+ rights and our charity is proud to have played a part in helping to celebrate and promote equality, inclusivity and diversity in this year’s Manchester Pride Parade, along with thousands of other communities and organisations across the globe.
Earlier this year our specialist schools celebrated Pride Month with a variety of events including our first ever student Pride Parade on campus.
Manchester Pride Festival is one of the world's leading celebrations of the LGBTQ+ community and takes place every year over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Spanning over multiple days, the festival sees thousands of people enjoy events like the famous parade, as well as concerts, talks, films and more.
