Together Trust brings Disney characters to life at Blackrod Scarecrow Festival
A resident and staff at the Together Trust’s community service in Bolton took part in the annual Blackrod Scarecrow Festival last weekend. An array of over 120 homemade and colourful scarecrows popped up in verges, greens and front gardens for the return of the village’s hugely popular festival. Among those were the Together Trust team’s lovingly crafted tableaux vivants, made-up of assorted straw, fabric, papier mâché and other recycled materials.
The beloved Disney characters of Woody from Toy Story, Dopey from Snow White and the despicable Minions Kevin, Stuart and Rob, had been planned since the beginning of the year and creatively displayed at the young man’s home.
The service team, which supports an autistic man with learning disabilities and epilepsy, was delighted to be part of one of the oldest events in the borough and contribute to the local community spirit.
