Surprise guest hops by Inscape House School for their Easter celebrations!
Students went on an Easter hunt on Thursday 21 March, cracking clues that spelt out R-A-B-B-I-T: leading them to the school hall adorned with Easter decorations where they were met with arts and crafts, sensory activities, and a special guest star - Honey the bunny!
Organised by Danielle, our AAI practitioner & Therapist, who shared:
“It was fantastic to see the students enjoying the Easter Fun Event while having educational learning opportunities in learning about animals' life cycles, mathematics, and also having sensory input and helping their fine motor skills.”
One activity involved working out which animals laid which egg - can you work out the seagull egg from the snake egg below?
Danielle adds:
“We also had the exciting experience of meeting Honey the Rabbit who visited Inscape House for the day. She was a very cute success and our students got to meet a real Easter Bunny!”
Honey is one of the many wonderful animals that the students have met as part of the school’s animal-assisted Intervention (AAI) sessions which improve students' mental, physical, social and emotional functioning.
Stroking and brushing the lovely bunny can be incredibly calming and soothing for anyone, but can be particularly beneficial for autistic students.
Thank you to the Inscape House School team for another great event and we look forward to what the school has in store after the Easter term break!
