Students celebrate the end of the year in style
The final day of the academic year is always a highlight for our schools and colleges, but this year was truly unforgettable. From dance parties to bingo, support animals to red carpets – here's what our students have been up to.
Inscape House School
Inscape House School is known to throw a good party, which is why they celebrated over 2 days with a variety of activities.
First, the annual Inscape Prom saw 112 students gather for a fantastic afternoon in the big hall. The event was packed with all sorts of amusing activities that our students love - they enjoyed face painting, captured memories in the magic mirror photo booth, danced during disco time, and indulged their sweet tooth at the ice cream van.
One of our graduating stars this year is Sean, a 19-year old who’s been a part of our Inscape family for four years. He shared, “I’ve loved it at Inscape, it’s been amazing - my classmates, the teachers, everything… I’m going to miss it a lot.”
On Friday 19 July, students were joined by family, friends and loved ones in an emotional Leavers’ Assembly celebrating their transition to the next exciting chapter of their lives.
Teachers took turns calling students up and giving a brief story of their successes in school. It was a proud moment for everyone, as each student walked up to the stage to receive their certificate and memory book, greeted by applause and cheers from their peers, teachers, and families. After the awards the talented Josh and James sang for the crowd before everyone tucked into the amazing buffet prepared by the team at Inscape, complete with a custom cake.
Rebecca, the mother of one of our graduating students, said in a moving speech “When we came to look around for the first time, I knew instantly that this was a school for Josh. It felt calm and structured and understanding. And most of all, you care about autism and you care about my son.”
Bridge College
Families gathered to honour the incredible achievements of our students in a dazzling ceremony. As each student took the stage, they were met with thunderous applause, receiving a certificate, a medal, and a special leavers jumper from our Principal John Cannon. The excitement didn't stop there—several students were also awarded special recognition certificates for their outstanding contributions.
The afternoon was filled with joy and laughter as students danced the day away at the end-of-term disco. Even the tutors couldn't resist joining in on the fun!
To cap off this extraordinary day, a red carpet was rolled out, and each leaver was given an emotional send-off, with staff lining up to clap them out of the college.
We couldn't be prouder of our Class of 2024, who have accomplished so much over the past three years. We wish all our leavers the very best for their futures and can't wait to see what they achieve next.
Ashcroft School
The staff at Ashcroft school prepared a surprise all-day garden party extravaganza to mark the end of the academic year.
Blessed with warm sunny weather, the day started with garden games like a relay race and archery, followed by arts and crafts, a raffle, dancing to music, delicious food and even recurring bingo games throughout the day. Students really enjoyed opportunity to write messages in each other's yearbooks and some of them even brough white shirts to be written on.
Taking advantage of the lovely weather, the award ceremony took place on the lawn outside the school. Students took turns accepting their awards for accomplishments throughout the year. They were cheered on by staff and some special guests: the support animal team (including guinea pigs, lizards and dogs!).
Over the years, we made so many happy memories with the amazing students, families and carers here. We wish all our students from the past year and throughout the history of the school the absolute best!
