National Thank a Teacher Day
This week saw the Together Trust celebrating National Thank a Teacher Day in all sorts of fun ways across our three schools, and here’s a round-up of what went on!
At Ashcroft staff and students arrived on Wednesday morning to discover the Ashcroft Elf had been busy overnight, decorating the trees with balloons and putting up a lovely colourful banner to thank all the schools teachers and support staff. Head teacher at Ashcroft, Eileen Sheerin, has also written to all the teaching staff to thanking them for their inspirational work. And you can read the letter here.
The reappearance of the Ashcroft Elf led to media speculation as the true identity of the little sprite and a Together Trust spokesperson gave this statement to the media:
“We can’t comment on rumours that Ashcroft Elf and the schools much loved head teacher, Eileen Sheerin, may be the same person on grounds of Elf and Safety. However we cannot deny that the two have never been seen in the same room, at the same time.”
Over at Inscape Jacqui Swainson, class teacher post 16, took full advantage of the fine weather to mark National Thank a Teacher Day.
Jacqui said: “To show my appreciation to my staff team I decided to organise an afternoon tea party, for everyone to enjoy, to say thank you for their endless hard work and dedication to the pupils in my class.
Finley loved drinking his tea from the china cups and Jack enjoyed being in the garden with his friends. We all had a lovely time and a great way to celebrate the amazing job the staff do at Inscape House School.”
At Bridge College students were given thank you stars to decorate in their own unique way, to show their appreciation for the teaching staff and Principal Lisa Duncalf sent a video message thanking staff for all their hard work. the Bridge College senior leadership team also sent a message round to all staff and students.
“Today is National Thank a Teacher Day and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff for their hard work and commitment. All the staff have gone above and beyond to ensure that students continue their education and families are supported throughout this challenging time.”
And you can see our Director of Services, Jill Sheldrake, sending out her thanks in this video.
Once again, however you marked the day, on behalf of everyone here at the Together Trust we’d just like to say a HUGE thank you not only to our teachers but to our school leaders, our teaching assistants and all our support staff for your commitment, dedication and your amazing and inspirational work, not only in these challenging times but all year round. Thank you so very, very much.
