Meridian with their own taste of the 'Great British Bake-Off'
Meridian, one of the Together Trust's short breaks services, looking after children and young people with learning disabilities and/or autism-associated conditions, hosted a baking fundraiser last Wednesday to raise funds for its indoor garden and activity area.
The event was open to staff members who were challenged to whip up a signature cheesecake, technical bake with brownies and summer-themed showstopper cake. The competition had its own Prue and Noel, judging the contestants, who had a chance to win a coveted 'Star Baker' apron. Meridian's 'Star Baker', Laura Bennett, shares:
The enthusiastic bakers raised £282, which will go towards new equipment and tools for the service's garden.
"It has been lovely to see the team come together for the bake-off event to raise money for our garden project. It is such a good cause, and the young people will really benefit from the new equipment in the garden," concludes Caroline Whittaker, Registered Manager at Meridian.
