First ever crochet workshop raises over £700!
Armed with crochet hooks, yarn and a creative mindset, a group of 50 people were the first to take part in our brand new initiative: craft workshops raising money for the people we support!
On 14 November we held our first ever craft workshop led by two staff members at the Trust - Tracey and Mandy, as well as Mandy's daughter-in-law Jenny Conduit who is an Associate Publisher at Crochet Now magazine. Mandy works in our Learning and Development team as an Advisor, while Tracey is our amazing Administrator at Newbridge, our Stockport-based day center for adults with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs.
The three teachers guided us through the art of crocheting the perfect granny square. Whether you were a first-time crocheter or a seasoned pro, it was a night full of creativity and community spirit.
We enjoyed delicious cakes from Cakes of Bliss, hot drinks, and even had a fun raffle with some amazing prizes including a Singer Sewing machine and lots of crocheting related prizes kindly donated by Crochet Now.
Best of all, we raised money an impressive amount of £818 for the life-changing therapy, support and care we provide to hundreds of young people and adults across the North West. The event was so popular it sold out within days of being advertised. If you happened to miss out on our crochet night, worry not! We are planning to host more in the coming months.
Sarah, fundraiser at the Together Trust shares: "We were overhwelmed by the support from our local community. We didn't expect to sell out so quickly. The evening was so much fun and we're really looking forward to hosting more!"
