Enriching outdoor experiences for students at Inscape House Vocational College

Every Monday, students enrolled in the Sports and Creative Media programs at Inscape House Vocational College engage in enriching weekly walks as part of their preparation for the Duke of Edinburgh Award and their Creative Media coursework.
These excursions not only provide a dynamic setting for students to cultivate essential outdoor skills, such as advanced map reading and navigation techniques, but they also serve as an excellent opportunity for enhancing their photography skills. Students are encouraged to creatively capture the beauty of the surrounding landscapes and natural environments, deepening their understanding of visual storytelling.
In addition to technical skills, these walks foster vital life skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience. Students work collaboratively to navigate routes and overcome challenges, reflecting the real-world scenarios they may encounter in both academic and professional settings.
The sessions are expertly led by a dedicated team, including Linden Wade, the Creative Media Teacher; Shane Henry, the Sports and Outdoor Education Teacher; and Alexander Kenny, the Sports Educational Assistant. Each instructor brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm, ensuring that students not only learn but also enjoy their time outdoors.
