Bridge College students wow parents and carers with their ‘showcase’ of work
This May, Bridge College opened its doors to parents and carers, inviting them to witness the impressive work of its students. As parents arrived, they were warmly greeted by learners who escorted them outside to witness a group of students demonstrating their remarkable rugby skills. Rugby coaches, who have been visiting the college for the past few months, have clearly made a significant impact. The learners' enthusiasm and skill level were on full display, earning cheers and applause from the audience as two teams showcased their newly acquired abilities.
Following the rugby demonstration, parents were guided into the college hall for an afternoon filled with drama, dancing, and cheerleading.
The cheerleading performance was a highlight, with students' energetic routines and synchronised movements captivating the audience. The joy and excitement were palpable as parents and carers whooped and clapped along.
The showcase also featured films projected on a large screen, highlighting the students' incredible work in upcycling old furniture and the lasting friendships they have formed at the college.
The drama performances of "Matilda" and "Romeo and Juliet" were executed to perfection. The audience was thoroughly impressed by the professionalism of the actors, who delivered their lines with clarity and confidence, reflecting the hard work and dedication that went into the performances.
Susan, a Bridge College facilitator, expressed her pride, saying:
"A huge congratulations to all the students involved. We’re so proud of you all. It was a pleasure to be able to organise such an event. It was lovely to see our parents and carers’ faces light up seeing their young people being so professional."
To conclude the afternoon, parents and carers were invited to view an art and craft display and enjoy sandwiches and cakes made by the students. The students proudly showcased vases they had designed, along with T-shirts and other items available at the Bridge Boutique Etsy shop.
This first student showcase at Bridge College was a resounding success, and the college extends its gratitude to all parents and carers for their attendance. Everyone involved took pride in their achievements, and the anticipation for next year's showcase is already building.
